A journey of the heart – with Julian Daizan Skinner

Daizan is a Rinzai Zen Master who trained in Japan, before returning to the UK and going on walking pilgrimage, starting right here on the Isle of Wight.

On the Summer Solstice we will be at St Catherines Lighthouse in Niton to sit in meditation as the sun rises. Then we will hold a day of Zen in Fishbourne, which you are welcome to join in.

On this special anniversary day (15 years of Zenways) Daizan will share his story of his journey from the Zen temples in Japan to starting his journey and creating Zenways here in the UK.

He has written a number of books to help others with their own Zen journey, from ‘Practical Zen’ to ‘Rough Waking’, these wonderful guides point us in the right direction. Daizan shares some precious gems from his own practice to help us find our own hidden treasure and he will be able to share some precious moments with us during his visit.

Anne discovered Zenways (7 years after its creation) and trained to become Mindfulness and Meditation teacher with Daizan, before taking the Buddhist precepts on Zenways 10th anniversary, right here at St Catherines Lighthouse. Anne (Wato – Isle of Harmony) will share her journey of the heart, what brought her to Zen practice and to train in Zen yoga, before we practice Zen methods together.
