Who am I?
The question “who am I?” is a spiritual question or ‘koan’ used in Zen Meditation to help you find a place of truth, peace and happiness. This is how practising Zen methods has helped me.
My name is Anne and my Buddhist name is ‘Wato’ or Isle of Harmony, my journey to discover mindfulness as a way to help me deal with life’s challenges, led me on to take the Buddhist precepts and train in Zen Yoga and Zen Compassion Meditation. My teacher Julian Daizan Roshi is a Zen Master from the Soto and Rinzai lineages of Zen, who offers practical Zen methods to help us all take the steps we need to feel happier and healthier.
This has been a lifetime journey for me, having already trained to become a Reiki Master and Hatha Yoga teacher, adding to my skills with Relaxation Therapy, Tibetan Buddhist Meditation and Restorative Yoga. All ways to help you relax, unwind and find a place of calm and clarity within.
A Mindful Heart
Mindfulness is not just being present with our mind, but with our heart as well. The Japanese character for ‘mindfulness’ is called nen, it is made up of two characters – ima, meaning ‘now’ and shin meaning ‘heart and mind’.

I now offer Mindful Heart Guidance, where you can explore a range of methods from gentle and restorative yoga, to meditation and mindfulness, reiki and energy based practices to help you discover what you really need to find balance in body, mind and heart. Give yourself the time and space you need to reflect, notice and tune into your needs with 1-1 Coaching and Tutoring. Discover the methods that can help calm your nervous system, settle the mind and relax the body by trying a variety of techniques that can be personalised just for you.

Mindful Living Coaching
In a coaching session you will be offered some helpful advice on building mindfulness into your day, to make friends with yourself, to bring more kindness and to enjoy living more mindfully. Coaching helps you discover the answers that are right there within you, helping you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and develop new skills that leads you towards better health and wellbeing. I share some useful methods and guide you to develop your own personal practice, so that you can make positive changes and create new habits. You are provided with guided meditations, tips and advice on getting started, making a plan, developing your practise, reflecting and exploring ways that work for you.
